A commitment to applying God's truth
Since November 2022, Freedom Matters Today has published high-quality, reliable, researched books on important global issues from a Christian perspective, anchoring them through the lens of the New Testament and the life and words of Jesus.
Jesus and the East
From 2021-2025, I have focused on presenting Christian perspectives on contemporary issues of relevance to Western Christians, such as Covid Hysteria, Ukraine, and the Culture Wars. With the genocide in Gaza, it challenged me to confront my assumptions about the world, especially that there is more to the world than simply issues that emanate from Washington D.C. The freedom that Jesus brings goes beyond the US Presidential election and American politics and the Culture War. The 'Western Burden' has weighed heavily on me these last few years, and I feel I have exhausted its treasures, few as they are. God is at work in his world, and it is time for me to pivot to the East, to Japan, China, Russia, India, and to the rich cultural and historical encounters with the risen Lord Jesus. I feel a calling now to explore the encounters between the East and Jesus, starting with Japan, and God willing, I shall do so, over the next few years.
