Who holds the universe together?

One of the problems with speaking the truth is that few listen. One of the challenges of promoting true life is that no one wants it. The problem with pointing to the way is that no one is interested. I have found whilst writing these podcasts and blogs and books is that people love controversy more than Christ, they desire doom rather than deity, and they prefer to be entertained rather than encouraged.

My book, ‘Freedom from Fascism’ has been the most popular book, and my most controversial. I spoke at length about Covid Hysteria, and the problems we faced with lockdowns. My book, ‘Is Russia My Enemy?’ failed dismally to sell beyond a few faithful people. Few are interested in the contest of history, between the man Christ Jesus and Diabolos, the only real contest worth talking about as the human contests are so predictable and utterly boring.

Many Christians tell me that they don’t need Freedom Matters Today because they go to church, and they listen to the good sermons of their minister, or rest during the homily of their priest or participate in the fictitious nonsense of the Mass. I didn’t start Freedom Matters Today for them, as most people who go to church will never see heaven, for in heaven there will be God and at his right hand, Jesus Christ, whom they ignore on earth and secretly despise. As church, they can doze off, spit venom at their weekly enemies, gossip and slander people, pay their dues and go back to their godless lives. I can’t breathe life on lifeless embers, only God can, but in many cases, they had their chances, and for centuries they keep doing the same thing.

Freedom Matters Today is a beacon for those outside the church and for the few in church who live with their eyes open. I am not interested in fighting the Culture War, which the church has lost, or in promoting new morality or public morality. I am absolutely and decisively interested in talking about the identity, the actions, and the words of Jesus, for Jesus brings us true freedom. His arrival on earth marked the only revolution of importance, the only crisis of earth, the only turning point in history, and this was the possibility that freedom might come into the world, a world enslaved by sin, oppression, and death, and the possibility, that this man, who lived a perfect life, might die for sin, once for all, killed by his own, rejected by all, but dying for all who might believe in him.

The good news begins and ends with the Son, whom the Father sent to change the world forever, the Son who from eternity past created the world, and as a man died for that world to bring about a new creation, a new family, a new identity, and a new life for all who seek it.

For me, each day is about the life of Christ. It is not one day of the year, nor is Christmas a festival that has much to do with Jesus, even in its nominally Christian form. This is a Western festival for a culture that thinks that God will look favorably upon it because God is white, or European, or speaks English, or goes to the Church of England. God has no favorites and he couldn’t care less how you celebrate December 25.

He care very much for you, and he cares very much about what we think of the Son, who did not remain a little baby, nor is he still hanging on a cross in our church. He ascended into heaven and sustains the whole universe by his powerful word. A Christian culture that settles for less than this, is one that is no longer Christian, if it ever was, which I doubt. For if the West was truly Christian, it would not be so hated, and it is hated because it does not follow Jesus, for if it did good, and was good, the world would give glory to God, and the light of Christ which shone first over Bethlehem would shine across the world in the hearts of all men.

Happy Christmas.

Remember, Freedom Matters Today, because you matter to God.
