This week, we are continuing in our series, ‘WW3: Will You Stand for Peace?’ Today’s reflection, ‘How many must die for peace?’ is brand new. I wrote it recently in light of events taking place in Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran, as Israel pushes the region towards war.
You can listen to this podcast reflection through many platforms including Spotify.
QUOTES
‘October 7 offered the opportunity for a different path, but Israel chose the path of revenge, which quickly turned to genocide. The state of Israel has failed to care for its own people, it fails to manage its own population with decency, respect, and compassion, and it is now consumed by blood lust for which there is no human solution, only a future of payback, retribution and blood. The future of Israel will not be peace, but fire, it will not be hope, but despair, and instead of flowers and vines and fruit, there will be brambles, weeds, and barrenness.’
‘Why is there war in the Middle East? Because America wants it, and Israel is their puppet. This is just the continuation of the war since 9/11, the War on Terror, repackaged for a new, gullible, obedient, generation.’
FIGHTING MISINFORMATION
If you have subscribed to this newsletter then you know that discerning the facts from misinformation and fake news is increasingly difficult. One of the goals of Freedom Matters Today is to:
Equip, encourage and empower you in your journey of life, faith, and spirituality.
What this means is to provide you with resources to enable you to think about freedom from a Christian perspective. To date, I have written and published 10 books in this classic Freedom Matters Today series, and the tenth book is almost complete.
FROM THE JORDAN TO THE SEA
As you know, Freedom Matters Today stands for the truth, even when it is uncomfortable, controversial and contested. There is such a thing as right and wrong in this world, and Christians need to stand for what is right, and oppose what is wrong.
That is why I decided to write ‘From the Jordan to the Sea, A Christian Response to Israel’s War.’ These days, this very controversial slogan is used by many in Israel to mean the ambition for ‘Greater Israel.’ The Palestinians also have a similar slogan, ‘From the River to the Sea.’
What is the Christian perspective on these issues? What insights can the Bible bring to a conflict such as this? What options are there for Israel if it wishes to survive into the future?
This book will be available in a few weeks. This is the cover below. It will be about 120 pp, with 12 chapters, each asking a different question about this tragic international crisis.

DOES GOD STAND WITH ISRAEL?
I also encourage you to buy a copy of ‘Does God Stand with Israel,’ especially if you know anyone struggling to make sense of the genocide in Gaza, the awful events of the last year in Israel and Gaza, and how all of it relates to the Old Testament, the Hebrew Bible of the Jewish people. It is a book about revenge, payback and genocide, and tackles difficult issues relating to divine genocide, and how God interacts with his people both today and in the past.

This book is available in paperback from Amazon.
2025: A NEW YEAR, A NEW BEGINNING
Freedom Matters Today is embarking on the next stage in this exciting journey which began in September 2021 at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. Next year will mark the beginning of two new initiatives, and more details of this will come soon. If you are already a subscriber, then you do not need to do anything. You will continue to receive this weekly newsletter, free to your inbox. It will be a challenging, but exciting new stage, with the ambition of taking the good news of the freedom of God to the ends of the earth.

Remember, freedom matters today, because you matter to God.
