We are continuing our series on the life of Abraham and what he can teach us about the current crisis in the Middle East, the genocide in Gaza, and the coming broader war, supported by American and other imperialist powers.

Today, we talk about the idea of Israel as a nation, and propose the radical idea that nothing changed in 1948 except that some Jewish people found a new place to live. The Jewish people have never ceased to be Israel, are always a people. The problem has to do with the word ‘nation’ and how it has confused our way of understanding about the ancient past and today.

We also talk about the difference between the religion of the soil and the religion of revelation. Which one are you? Is your God a tribal deity or the God of the whole world? Most people today worship the god of the soil, even most Christians.
